Took me a while to post this but I went on the Girls Bar Tour a couple of months ago and it was great! I had just always been curious as it was something unique to Japan and wouldn’t dare to go on my own (also, they had me at nomihoudai 🤣).
We went to 3 bars with different concepts and there was even a short tour about the history of Ueno. The highlight for me was of course meeting JE and Miley themselves! They were very friendly and exactly the same as on YouTube haha, there was never an awkward moment.
Thank you Smiley Walk for making my first trip to Tokyo a memorable one ❤️🔥

We have been following Japan Explorer and the Smiley Walk channels for many years and have become huge fans. This tour was, without a doubt, one of the best things we have ever done.
Miley and JE went far beyond our expectations. What is truly awesome is that they are exactly the same in person as they are on camera—genuine, warm, and incredibly knowledgeable. Miley's energy is absolutely infectious! She brings incredible enthusiasm and joy to sharing her knowledge of Japan, and her vibrant personality lights up the entire tour. She is so incredibly energetic and personable that you can't help but feel excited and engaged the whole time. Her warmth and genuine interest in connecting with everyone on the tour made us feel like old friends rather than just tourists.
Over the years, watching their channels has taught us so much about Japan, but being there in person with them was an incredible experience. We learned even more, and from a personal perspective, we loved that personal touch of connecting with them face-to-face. You're not just learning about the city—you're learning about the culture, the history, and getting an exploration into what it's like to be not just a tourist in Japan, but a person living there. At one point, it genuinely felt like we were walking inside a Japan Explorer Smiley Walk video!
This tour is highly recommended. If you are in Japan, you must connect with Miley and JE and do this tour. For us, the Shinjuku tour was fantastic. Without a doubt, we are going to be regulars on the Smiley Walk tour whenever we visit Japan. We are already looking forward to coming back and doing other tours with them. Connecting with them will be a "must-do" for all of our future Japan travels, as it should be for yours.

We did the Shinjuku night tour with Smiley and it was one of the best nights of our trip. We'd already been watching her videos before visiting Japan, so getting to actually hang out with her was really cool.
Miley and JE know all the little spots you'd never find on your own and kept the night moving perfectly. Four hours flew by.

Best thing we did in Tokyo — an unforgettable Shinjuku night with Miley and JE!
Our tour with Smiley Walk Tour was hands down the best decision we made on our entire trip, and it far exceeded every expectation we had.
Miley was absolutely wonderful from the very first moment. She has this incredible ability to make you feel like an old friend, warm, welcoming, and genuinely excited to share her city with you. She and JE are the perfect team. Their knowledge of Shinjuku, the history, the culture, the hidden corners... it all went above and beyond anything we could have explored on our own. We explored places we would have never found or felt comfortable walking into by ourselves and learned the history of each place, knowledge you just can't "google".
The food, the drinks, every stop along the way, everything was thoughtfully chosen, genuinely fantastic and far exceeded our expectations. You can tell they love what they do, and that energy is contagious.
We will absolutely be booking with Miley and JE again the next time we're in Tokyo.

I went for Smileys Asakusa tour, and it was amazing. So friendly, energetic, and a lot of local and historic knowledge of Japan and Tokyo. The dinner was lovely.
I can highly recommend going on this tour with her, and I assume no less on any of her other tours.
